And it would be pretty heartbreaking if I'd done such an intensely personal thing and then taken it to hundreds of people and they'd be like, what?

This sucks.

I mean, you know, it happens.

I've played lots of songs that didn't land with people, but it's such an amazing feeling when I just know that it's connecting.

And it is a real, it's a visceral feeling.

Like there's an energy in the air where it's like, oh, everyone's like holding their breath because they feel like I'm saying something that they weren't able to articulate.

And that's such a great feeling.

Um, I don't think so.

I mean, I'm sure there are places that I hold back a little bit.

Like there's always little thought processes as I'm writing the song of like, um,

you know, is that too much to say, or is that too much to give away, or... But I think ultimately, I do try to be as honest as I can.

Like that's, it's not very often that I'll censor myself.

I think because over the years, I've just learnt that that, that is um, it's just the most kind of rewarding way to do it, because the more honest you are, and the less you hold back,

This, the more power the song has and, you know, the braver it is and the braver you are with expressing your deepest kind of fears and insecurities, the more people will relate to it and the more they can kind of grab hold of it and go, yeah, this thing I wasn't brave enough to say or, you know, this is the thing that,

I've never heard articulated in this way before because no one's gone there before, you know.

So I just want to be that voice for people where they go, ah, that was, that song explains the thing in my life that I've always struggled to explain.

Or that song is really articulating what I'm struggling with in this relationship or in this stage of my life.

Yeah.

And you do do it so magnificently.
