they're able to maintain a really specific kind of tension through like, not only through long scenes, but through episodes, through the whole series, you are a little on edge this entire time.
And as much as it's about toxic masculinity, like that is what the, probably the thesis of the full show is like it.
very and it feels real it's a horrifying thing but then you're like sitting with characters who feel very real i think the acting is like insane incredible i love all the characters i was saying to greg the other day like if you've watched house of the dragon in season one they have like two younger actors that play the first half of the season and two older ones and i remember having this feeling halfway through like oh i love like these younger actors like i don't want to move away from them and the same thing happened in the show we're like in half man yeah the
the first half they kind of follow them as younger and i like fell in love with these characters and then they switch to older actors and you're like oh i kind of want to just like watch the younger ones but then you realize like these older ones are incredible actors too the story's just as compelling it finishes out like such a strong ending definitely like to me i said to greg already as well like not that it's anything like chernobyl but it reminded me of a miniseries where you're just like that was so satisfying if anyone's ever looking for a miniseries that's like really compelling
thriller but actually saying something informative yeah you learn but you're just like gripped the whole time yes it is a little intense if you're somebody who's like doesn't like some like gruesome moments in my head if you go to glasgow like you're gonna get your head smashed like that's kind of the way that they like portray it they're like glasgow equals head smash
but there's so many more layers and when we first started watching i was like is this an outright like homosexual like conversation it's it's i won't say much about it but it's like it is captivating for gay men as well but i think straight man and straight and i think beyond that like i think every layer of it is so interesting and talking about how like boys think about and treat their mothers and what that that relationship represents and i don't know it was so good to me

All the like main characters are just boys or men and they're compelling and fascinating, but it's not like a show where we're going to learn much about girls.
hounded by men in the in the sauna i was just like wow mitch i don't know if you ever thought that you'd see the day when the guy from billy elliott is like addicted to gay sex yeah no it's so dark crazy but i'm like if this was filmed differently he's my sexual awakening as like a young person like we're probably around the same age yeah within years so when i was young watching billy elliott i'm like oh my god this guy's so cute and he's playing a gay or not a not a gay role but like a very like kind of similar theme
yeah he has well that's so it was always so sweet to me because in billy elliott he's not gay but has a gay best friend and it represented like a straight guy who could be doing something that is prototypically effeminate but still and not taking that wait that's kind of what has to be about that's really interesting i actually thought about that's what because also billy elliott is about toxic masculinity yes it's about his father and his brother and they can't deal with the fact that he's like wants to do ballet and he doesn't see the job ballet
Yeah, and his brother is like a scary, violent man in Billy Elliot.
