If you think about the supposed main benefit of the sporting director model is it's meant to be you're meant to avoid that.

You're meant to be able to have an overarching strategy that doesn't change every time the manager changes.

And so there is that stability, there is that kind of smoothness and everybody on the same page situation, which we haven't had over this period at all.

I'm always a little bit skeptical of

that anyway because I think the idea that you can have a sporting director in charge and man every single manager is happy to play the same way with the same players.
