Like, I play against my brothers and sisters.
I need to win.
So when I was like, hey, I'm a kid.
You're an adult.
You better not let me beat you.
I just wanted to win.
And I loved it.
And genuinely, and I think it also...
I think for me personally, at quite a young age, I had to mature quite quickly.
And being around women that weren't involved with my family allowed me to see another side of life that was possible.
And that was huge for me.
Do you know what I mean?
Like seeing people go to work, seeing people have healthy relationships, healthy friendships, drive cars.
I was like, wow, this is cool because I'd only seen what I've seen in my family.
And then I was able to have conversations with adults in which in a household we weren't
In my house growing up, we weren't allowed to talk.
We never had conversations with adults.
We just generally weren't allowed to talk.
So that was like a thing in which was so great for me to be able to go, okay, there's more.
When I wrote that book, I was yet to understand my childhood and or process it.
