you're going on company vacations because they would sell trips overseas to the countries that they worked in and serve.

And so they would do staff trips where you'd get a discounted rate to go on the trip.

And majority of the staff were, like I said, fresh out of university, fresh out of high school, like very young.

And the salaries we received in exchange for free housing was just above the poverty line.

So you're really financially in a pretty tight situation and your whole life, all of your social setting, all of your friends is everybody that you work with.

So you're kind of just like constantly in the ethos of like saying the brand slogans to each other.

And they really believed that it was a get the job done, period.

Like that was something everybody loved to say.

There's no saying can't.

It's only, how do we get this done?

So it was just this constant feeling of pressure put on you.

And then even when you were achieving at a high level, it felt like you would never be praised for that or rewarded for that.

It was always just, well, don't go getting a big head or finding ways to keep you humble.

They loved humility.

My family were my best friends and still are my best friends.

And I think because I had gone through so much just four years prior, they were just so happy to see me getting this opportunity.

But I think the more it went on, the more side-eyeing they were doing.

So I eventually ended up getting out almost two years later.

into the experience because I had a workplace accident and I had to take a medical leave.

And on that medical leave, I was dealing with significant like post-traumatic stress disorder and going through therapy and kind of had all of this realization of what an unhealthy environment it had been for me.
