So again, we saw that basic summary of what Kansans think when we had the political referendum and the concept of taking it out of our constitution as a protected option. matched

They did have some interesting questions on abortion that matched

I found that we have about 30% of folks agree with some of the things that states like Texas have done, where if for some reason we would be able to make all abortion illegal in the state, did they agree or disagree that it would be illegal for Kansas women to travel outside the state to get abortions? matched

And 30% of the folks agreed that that should be the case. matched

Whereas we're still at like 56 percent who 50.6 percent, just over 50 percent, who think that they should not make it illegal for women to travel outside the state. matched

So in this category, things fell along the lines of about what we'd expect from past votes. matched

And that is something that they took a look at in this survey. matched

They asked whether they thought state government should continue to look at, do they strongly oppose or somewhat oppose new laws that restrict access to abortion passed by the Kansas legislature? matched

And 46% of those did oppose that, whereas 32% just over supported new laws that would restrict access. matched

I, as a business reporter for most of my career, I really love this part of the survey. matched

It was interesting to me. matched

They did say that when asked to rate the Kansas economy, just nearly 28% of the respondents said they felt the state's economy is very good or even excellent in 2025. matched

And that was about 6% higher than in 2024 and nearly 10% higher than in 2023. matched

So even though that kind of contradicts down lower, you've got a percentage of respondents feeling the Kansas economy is getting worse, is at 36.1%. matched

So I think that this is something that's really personal. matched

to each individual situation. matched

You've got folks who may have new jobs at the Panasonic battery plant who feel like they're getting great benefits and better pay than they've had. matched

Whereas you have our Kansas farmers, of course, are in total chaos in the economy and struggling what with tariffs and even potentially some of the, um, changes that we're expected to see pretty soon in health insurance costs. matched
