So they're coming out about even on that type of thing. matched

Now, regarding immigrants who are here illegally, we did see some real disparities, though 44% agreed that illegal immigrants should be left alone by authorities if they don't break any laws, with 36% disagreeing. matched

And so they're pretty polarized, again, on whether illegal immigrants or people who are here not through legal means contribute more to society than they take in terms of resources. matched

And you get into some of these topics where I think people make assumptions. matched

There's some in terms of criminality. matched

Over 40 percent, like they were coming in at 43 percent, agreed that immigrants who are here are illegal. matched

here illegally, finding my words today, were a danger to the public safety, whereas one-third, 33%, disagreed. matched

And, you know, when you look at even a Department of Justice study that found that immigrants commit crimes, even if they're undocumented, at a significantly less than half the rate of U.S. matched

So that's something that's not completely based in fact, but just definitely a feeling that people have as we talk to them. matched

I think this is one of the areas where we saw some of the most agreement on a few of them. matched

There was actually 91%, over 91% of respondents said that they believed having that high quality childcare available for families is absolutely critical, extremely or highly important as the survey put it. matched

And again, this is something that as they're facing all the economic pressures they're facing right now and the potential of health insurance costs rising both on the private market and the public marketplace, matched

This is really important for families that they're able to have a dual family income. matched

And so we look at that and people understand that connection between how the economy is doing and access to child care. matched

86% strongly or somewhat agree that access to affordable child care strengthens our Kansas economy. matched

So that's something that's important to them. matched

And 77% strongly or somewhat agree that the state should pass laws that make expanded accessibility to good childcare. matched

So I think that's really kind of a message to our legislators that we need to be paying attention to what these families need at this point in time. matched
