And this is often what happens is the AI silently reinterprets the user's input in a way that it can satisfy.
User asks for a hundred vegetables starting with the letter G.
And right around number 20, 25, AI hits a wall, can't come up with any other vegetables with that start with the letter G.
And so it just keeps going with.
Just puts the word green in front of like hot dog, oxtail, pizza.
If you're just looking for, okay, user asks for something with a hundred, you know, items, does the AI actually respond with a hundred items?
This is what most evals check for and what most people look for is like, okay, did it give a list of a hundred things?
Uh that would all come up green, but great.
But what the AI actually is is silently reinterpreted, okay, I can't find additional vegetables with G, so let me just kind of keep going with something that I think is kind of roughly what the user probably wanted.
And the only way to catch that is to have a system that can actually look at the conversation and say, okay, what did the user actually want?
What were their requirements?
What was their kind of implicit and explicit?
Many cases that will be ambiguous, which makes it even harder to catch.

The goal of a conversation changes over the arc of the conversation.
And this is a beautiful thing about AI in general.
This is something I love as a user, is that you can start talking about what your favorite pizza is.
And at the end of the conversation, you could be getting life coaching or you could be drafting emails or writing things can come up and you can take it in different directions.
And so oftentimes that's a benefit, as particular, particularly if it's an
open ended AI assistant, that's a benefit to the user that they can kind of go between things.
