So I would get up at like three and I would bike on my little 10 speed to the YMCA three miles away.
I looked at it as like, I want this to suck for myself.
I want to like earn this.
And so I'm biking at three in the morning and I do my little scanner job.
And then after my first,
like three hours of work.
I would hop on the train, go to UMass Boston, which was very easy to get into at the time.
And I was getting my act together, right?
And so after three semesters of good behavior, of paying rent, of being like a high functioning kid, I began thinking about what I was going to do after college.
Because now it's like, okay, I can probably graduate.
I was embarrassed.
Yes.
And I don't even know.
I don't know.
It was like I came home and I was mad from being brought home from UMass Amherst.
But then something quickly clicked that this was my fault.
And I suddenly sort of saw myself for the first time as like a really ignorant, entitled little brat who had gotten away with acting like an idiot for a long time.
And like literally my mother wrote my essay that got me into that school and my parents paid for it.
Like, what are you doing?
It was like embarrassing.
