And so I think I wanted to not be a fuck up anymore.

Like,

genuinely and so as i'm turning my act around and not even like within like several months i'm like back on track i'm like training like like i'm working out i'm like i'm like doing stuff that like shows i'm being responsible and you're studying for seals at this point right

Not really.

It sort of all happened at once.

I'm like maybe a sophomore slash maybe I was a junior at this point.

But it was like, no, I was a sophomore in college.

I'm still at UMass Boston, so I'm still living at home.

But I'm like, OK.

I've sort of turned my act around a little bit.

I was thinking about what was next.

I knew I would graduate.

I was studying philosophy, really with not a clear shot for what I would do.

I just loved philosophy.

I loved thought experiments.

And I didn't really have a plan, but a lot of my buddies when I graduated high school joined the Marines and they went off to Iraq and Afghanistan.

And I looked at that as incredibly honorable, not so much literally what they did, but just in a time of war to volunteer is a big move.

It doesn't matter what you think about it, it's a big move.

And I always sort of

I would find myself wishing that that had been what I did in part because of my fuck up and all that.
