Now, I understand that to a certain extent, but to put that into context, he joined Rangers when we won the championship, right?

And also, he's probably been part of the initial few squads that he was a part of

probably the worst range of teams for a long, long time.

And the amount of turmoil that's grown at board level, amongst the fans, the players, the fact that we generally had a lack of quality in our squad.

So for people to say he can't be considered a great because he's not won many trophies, fair enough.

But at the end of the day, that's not his fault.

He's done what he's supposed to do, which is he's been a great leader on and off the pitch.

His numbers are staggering.

I think he's the highest goal-scoring British defender of all time, I think he is.

Also, some of his performances, I mean, I get it's over a long period of time, but, for example, Gordon, that run to the UEFA Cup final, right, he was the highest goal-scorer in that whole competition.

You know, he's up against some brilliant strikers, and he's outscored them, got us to a UEFA Cup final, led us out in a UEFA Cup final as a captain.

Now,

some of the English fans need a head read if they're coming out and saying he shouldn't get an extension because for me I'm not saying he would start every game because he wouldn't and I'm not saying he'll start the first game next season as you asked the last caller there Gordon because he probably won't even if he was to sign an extension for another year he probably wouldn't start the next season anyway but what a guy to have as Brian says as Gordon said what a guy to have as a backup do you know if you're needing players to come on you know if Sterling gets injured or whatever do you think he'd settle for that role?

I think he would.

I think he's been there long enough now to know that he's probably not going to get another move that's going to be... He's definitely not going to get a move to a club as big as Rangers, that's for sure.

He's not going to go to a top, top league.

So I think for him, he probably would accept that for sure, yeah.

And also, after that, I think he would become an ambassador of the club, you know?

I think he would.

So I think he would, absolutely.
