I'm from Philly.
My family was raised Muslim.
So I think that experience is a little bit different.
And then my Jamaican side of the family doesn't have funerals.
They have celebrations of life.
You know what I mean?
So I'm gonna actually be real and say, I don't think so.
Lots of experience of black weddings, but I don't think I've experienced this particular type of black funeral.
I've certainly experienced black funerals.
But this particular type maybe only once or twice, yeah.
Well, it has its own abbreviation, which I think is all you need to know.
And that's not even funeral relevant.
It don't matter if somebody's getting married or married.
My aunt was late to her own wedding.
But I say all this to say time for us is a construct because we've spent so many generations struggling, you know, that why should time matter?
Like, why should anyone else's schedule matter when we are finally free?
You know what I mean?
