I know in my own city of Weston, I work very closely with Weston Music Society that was wanting to apply.

And I went through the whole process with them and wrote a letter, which I think is perfectly legitimate to do in support of it.

And I think Commissioner Fisher said that.

I don't want to be responsible for doing this.

I believe that we have to go through the process that we have right now in the county that is, I think, doing a great job, the cultural division.

the qualifying process and the way it all ends up being allocated.

And I assure you, I guess, Phil, maybe you could send out a list of all the different cultural events that were supported.

I know I get what's in my district, but maybe everyone should see them all to see how broad it is and how it serves all different kinds of people in our community and different types of events.

The part for me is I don't want the liability on us.

I don't want it on me.

And I don't think that this is the way we should be going.

I think we should do it within our county process.

And certainly the county is hosting things in cities all across this county.

So I don't think that that is really the issue.

And...

I don't want to be responsible at this point, especially with the bill that's coming forward and will be signed to deal with this.

That's where we are today until we get a different legislature.

But I just think, as I said, there's just so many pitfalls to this, to doing it the other way.

And I like the fact that we have professionals that are doing this, and they're covering all our communities.

And it's up to us, as I said, to let people know in our communities that funds are available.
