Like, would I write a book for Japanese about, you know, how to cook.
You know how to make sandwiches because
In those days nobody knew how to make a sandwich really, you know, it seemed like.
But you know, how to approach west western food like from a actual western Western viewpoint, like how to make a real gratin.
So so so that's what I was thinking the easiest way in.
And then it just seemed became clear that everybody wanted this Japanese cookbook.
And so um
I s made the steps towards that of going to a professional conference in Portland.
Took my son Christopher who ended up in college there and started meeting people and then I went to and then it it sort of went along that um and I made myself kind of known as what I do and and it just sort of, you know, networking kind of thing.
So the first one Japanese farm food.
I mean
That a lot of that was
I felt like people didn't really see Japan like how I've exp was experiencing it, you know, and I was most attracted to
Men's cooking, like my friend Kan, he has a soba restaurant and his side dishes and my husband's cooking and and Matsan, the um the Mayanise guy, but he's he's no longer with us.
But um so I was not interested so much in Obajan's food, frankly, you know, because it was sweet.
was, you know, all all sorts of things.
I wanted fresh and and and you know, and maybe it's because m men tend to drink and I also have dr drink with my dinner too.
But I don't know.
But um
I wanted to present a side of Japan, like the community, the things we're doing.
