So yeah, we are we are a very comfort focused society.
And I do think that other global cultures understand that their populace is more trained to enduring the suffering inflicted by their government than ours is.
Uh
It it is and it's interesting because I think, you know, we bombed every school in Gaza, right?
And like where was that response when that happened?
And there's no universities standing left in Gaza, right?
They've all been destroyed.
Um, I think that's true with elementary schools as well at this point.
But I do think, you know, it took a sickeningly long for the American people to break out of the denial cycle when it comes to the most recent, you know, atrocities in Gaza and Israel's occupation of of Gaza for, you know, over decades.
But I think it's interesting because you do I think you saw the establishment and the democratic establishment making a huge miscalculation about how badly Americans want that comfort.
Right, because I think to the we are willfully participants in our own ignorance a lot of the time.
There were atrocities and war going on when I was a child.
I didn't have to know about them.
Social media didn't exist.
There are all sorts of conflicts happening around the world, um, throughout US history that Americans have really willfully not been terribly aware of.
And especially after Vietnam, when they start ending up in brown countries or or you
You know, in South America, in Latin America, a lot of Americans are, you know, willing to
turn a blind eye because this isn't a conflict with Europeans that look like us.
Um but it's not a conflict with And so I think they made this calculation of like, oh people will be willing to ignore this if we tell them to out of comfort.
