High-profile media boss Anthony Catalano did not appear in person in court today because of concerns over his mental health.
The 59-year-old appeared via video link for a short hearing at Melbourne Magistrates Court on charges of assaulting and threatening to kill his wife.
Mr Catalano's lawyer told the court his client had expressed remorse and was on drugs at the time he allegedly assaulted his wife in March.
Mr Catalano also recently attended a 28-day rehabilitation program.
The matter is set to return to court in June.
