Bex Inska is an international leader in female condom development, and she's heading up an evaluation of a national program here in South Africa that's been rolling out female condoms for free for years.
They haven't quite caught on as they might.
People saw them as a novelty item for a while, but that could be changing.

That's obviously an anxiety for some people about male condoms.
What in theory can a female condom allow a woman to do?
But what if you don't get a choice because the guy you're going to bed with doesn't want a bar of it?

In Australia, it's gay men who are being targeted for PrEP.
With three trials underway here, and the Therapeutic Goods Administration has just approved the drug called Travada.
It's still expensive though, if you're not in a trial, and men have been ordering it online from overseas to get around.
It's also got approval in Kenya and South Africa where Lindagail Becker and colleagues Rebecca Marcus and Tola Benny are involved in an independent trial for girls in Cape Town and Soweto.
They think it's a game changer, Rebecca Marcus.
So given though the difficulty with getting antiretroviral drugs to the full population here, I mean yes you've done very well in South Africa, but still over half of those who are infected with HIV don't have access to antiretrovirals.
This is a sort of extraordinary proposal.
