It depends on results elsewhere, but they could well need to beat the Lions at home next weekend as well to ensure that they reach the playoffs and the Champions Cup next year.
There are lots of permutations and ways things can work out with the results elsewhere, but the big game to watch that doesn't involve an Irish province is Cardiff hosting the Stormers on Friday night.
The Stormers are second, Cardiff are seventh.
If the South African side gets a win, that means Connacht and Ulster are in
to the top eight with victories on their side.
So if all the provinces win their matches, Cardiff beat the Stormers, and of course within that Ulster do Leinster a favor by beating Glasgow, and Leinster beat the Ospreys, then Leinster will be in the top two and have a home run as far as the semifinals, and the other three provinces will be in.
Right, permutations out of the way, here's Gordon Darcy to look back on the weekend.
Gordon Darcy, hello.
Here we are, another week, another weekend of URC action.
You had an interesting viewing experience on Saturday, I gather, in the Aviva?
a white jersey from my last season with number 13 on it little Judas okay sorry that took me a second to make that connection but then when you said Judas I got it there funny actually because I was going to say that the Jamie Osborne try was somewhat reminiscent of the O'Driscoll kicking the ball over the last defender yeah
So there we go.
It's all full circle moments.
OK, so because last week we talked about he had the kind of nice thick set Navy Bank of Ireland Canterbury one.
So this one was a more tighter fitting, newer model, wasn't it?
Yeah, well, 13 in my last season.
I don't remember you playing 13 in your last year.
Wow.
It's funny you say that for the fan engagement because I've kind of had that split thoughts about, because I can remember being there the first time Leinster brought out Mike to do the Viking clap with Leo the Lion.
They did it, it was back in the RDS.
