Trauma can lead us to feeling like things are completely out of control, that things don't make sense.

And then what does that lead to?

That can lead to a sense of general anxiety.

Because it's not enough for us to just see a pattern.

And it's much more satisfying to us if it isn't just why did this happen, but who made this happen?

What deliberate agency is behind this thing?

And conspiracy theories can give us an explanation for our feelings of dread.

Dread is a terrible experience.
