To be honest, I haven't spoken to him for a bit.
He's been a busy man with busy things to do.
Well, but it's not quite as hard as being prime minister, is it?
God, I wouldn't wish that job on anyone.
But look, it doesn't matter whether he talks to me or not.
It does matter about whether he sees the scale and the scope and the nature of the challenge.
Yeah, I think it's strange in the sense that it doesn't come from theory.
You hardly ever hear him cite anyone, reference anyone.
He's quite an emotive politician.
Yeah, it's emotive and it's from practice.
It's from his day-to-day work.
And I've sat him down with big thinkers from think tanks and academia or whatever.
And I just thought, you know, at first I used to think, you know, he'll just say, oh, hello, everyone.
I'm really pleased to be here.
I'm going to listen to what you say or whatever.
He would just start for 20 minutes and start talking in really interesting, imaginative ways about, you know, particularly around economy and rewiring the state, like really impressive.
And, you know, then I'd get people after, you know, texting me going, God, he's impressive, isn't he?
And he is, you know, I think there are, you know, there are limits to his impressiveness in the sense that I think too much of it is,
backward-looking and not forward-looking.
But on those issues, he has thought about stuff.
