You know, you're you're being there with your kid, you know, and helping manage their em emotions, not by solving anything, but just kind of being with them.
And of course, we also know that the way that people become emotionally close to one another is is being together when they're dealing with stuff that's hard.
Um, and as and as Bill said, it's hard to sit there when our kids are having a
hard time.
Yeah, and and not jump in and want it wanna s want to solve it, but just be willing to say, boy, that seems really hard.
Yeah, I I'd I'd be really upset if that were if that happened to me.
Yeah, it's funny.
I was just having coffee of um Bill with a mutual friend uh and client that we have, and and she has been doing work of late with refugees and was asking me about how is it that that some people become resilient and other people don't?
And and it was it's a mom who has three kids who had suffered the um systemic um rapes and brutalization of the part of Africa that they come from.
And say, how can the how, how, how?
And I said, well, I don't I don't know that situation exactly.
But it's fair that despite uh uh trauma as terrible as trauma can be, they still want their lives to work out.
And they and they you know, and so i i it's um
We don't move past those things, but you can move on, right?
Rather than moving on, you move forward, right?
Those things are always going to be part of lives.
And and same thing, you know, traumatic childhood experiences.
And ideally, it's it's it's never anything worse than being mistreated by friends who were friends and who are no longer friends.
But we may not move on, but we we definitely need to move forward.
Um, and so we can say, gosh, that's really hard.
