I mean, basically, this comes down to budget.
What can you actually afford to buy?
That's got to be your first port of call.
But if you are in the market for a new car, if you do have the finances to be able to pay for a new car, even if it's quite a cheap one, and there are actually still some cheap new cars around, the best thing to do is to scour the websites.
And go and look at someone who's doing a really good deal.
Because although there is no scrappage scheme anymore, that's long gone, folks.

Not an official government backed one.
What you do get a lot now are what's called trade-in boosters, which is basically a discount.
It's basically the dealer will take in your old car and they'll pay you over the odds for it.
as a way of knocking money off the new car.
And there are some really good ones around.
I mean, this can be worth even 2,500, 3,000 euro, depending on what you're buying and what you're looking at.
So scour the websites, look for those deals, and that will help you boost your affordability, basically, of the new car.
Obviously, that's not going to work against the secondhand car.
If you're looking at secondhand, it's all down to budget and all what you can afford.
Well, I think there's two things you can do, one of which is a really sensible idea and one of which is really not.
The sensible idea is basically exactly the same advice as before.
