That's not impossible.

In fact, on that ADAC report, that was part of how that ID.3 has retained so much range capacity was because the electronics that manage the battery got better over time.

So the battery longevity thing really needs to be put to bed.

Yes, it's a worry.

And it's not a worry that's entirely without basis.

If you buy any car, there are any number of components that can go very expensively pop.

But I think for people to be worrying about EV batteries when they have been proven to be incredibly reliable and robust, at a time when I've seen people scrap a five-year-old BMW because one electronic control unit broke and the insurance company went, it's not worth replacing.

Wow.

Because it's too expensive to do.

Yeah.

There you go.

And actually, you can replace and recycle EV batteries.

There is a company down in Kildare called Range Therapy that's currently taking old Nissan Leafs, ripping out the old worn out battery, shoving in a brand new shiny one that actually has more capacity and more range than the original battery.

And then either paying you for the old battery because it still has usable parts and components or it can be recycled.

or you can take that old battery away and you can hang it outside your house and use it as a home battery for a buffer during power cuts or for high peak times of electricity.

Yeah, loads of points.

I mean, you know, particularly people like me, people who can't get access to a home charger.

There are fantastic hybrids out there that are, I mean, really economical.

I mean, Toyota Yaris Cross, just as an example off the top of my head, that's a really sweet little car.

It's not even that little, actually, it's quite roomy inside.
