Some you actually have to bring the car physically to a location to have the battery checked.
If any seller, private or otherwise, balks at you asking about that, that's a red flag straight away.
Just make sure, obviously doing a history background check is always a good idea.
See if the car has outstanding finance left to be paid on it.
That's always a red flag.
Try and look in to see if the car has been written off at any stage.
And just the regular stuff, full service history.
Does it look like it's in good condition?
Does it look like it's been well cared for?
And if all of those are flashing up green, then it should be fine.
Yes, it is, but there are roots around it.
We've seen a big rise in imports from Japan in the last two years.
because obviously they're a right-hand drive market as well.
And although they're outside the EU, and therefore you're subject to the same VAT and customs duties payments as you would be from buying a car from the UK, in general, the stock that comes from Japan is better quality and lower priced.
So a lot of dealers in particular have been buying from Japan and bringing cars in.
So that's quite an interesting route.
Not so much in the way of EVs coming from that angle yet.
Japan is still not a very EV-heavy market.
Buying from the UK, you can still do it if you buy from Northern Ireland.
Because then, you know, assuming the car has its correct paperwork under the Windsor Framework, which it should do, again, if you're buying from a dealer.
