if it doesn't have a full set of stamps in the service book or on the digital service book or whatever, that's what you're looking for because that's a car that's been properly cared for.
And in the current parlance, that's a car that will have its software fully up to date and therefore should be in reasonably good state.
But yeah, I mean, buying an electric car is secondhand.
It's just like buying any other car secondhand.
You need to, you know,
Check the tires for uneven wear.
Does that show that the suspension's been damaged?
Drive it around.
Listen for unusual or unpleasant noises.
Look for dents.
Look for scratches.
Look for excessive wear and tear in the cabin.
Anything that tells you about what kind of life that car has had.
Don't be troubled too much by high mileage.
Obviously, with the battery warranties, low mileage is preferable because it means you've got more of that warranty left to run.
But in general, most modern cars can handle big miles without too much trouble.
Unless the seller is known to you or known to a friend and you know them to be a solid, upstanding person.
And also as long as they don't mind you getting the battery checked before you buy.
There are services that will do that.
Some are just little things that you plug into the car's diagnostic port and they do it instantly.
