And I'm saying to one of my crime world colleagues that now we're going to get sort of a rush of stories about Kinahan.
And they're of the opinion that, in fact, no, we won't, because he's been arrested, he's banged up in Dubai, and we won't hear any more until he's actually extradited back to Ireland, which is expected to happen
over sort of a, not years long, but months long process.
So that's where it lay until the last week when suddenly, boom, we have all these stories coming out from this quite extraordinary interview he's given with this podcaster who has a bit of history with him.
And it appears to have been, at least a large majority of it, been recorded from inside prison because he's referring to current affairs and the process that he's currently involved in.
So James English, he's a Scottish podcaster.
He's a bit of a corner from character himself.
He's seen the inside of prison from his sort of troubled upbringing, knows what he's talked about from a criminal perspective.
himself and Kinahan go back at least until 2022, when they did a previous proper sit-down, three-hour interview in Dubai, when Kinahan was a free man, obviously.
And at the time, English had kind of teased this out as a world exclusive.
You're going to hear Kinahan's side of the story.
And we were all waiting with bated breath to see what Kinahan would say.
And then
the shutters came down on it, but for legal reasons, English said he wasn't allowed.
He didn't specify who wouldn't allow him, was it his legal advisors or who basically shut it down.
So he described it at the time as sort of an attack on
on his free speech and on Kinahan's.
And that's where the story kind of lay dormant until last week.
And suddenly, like I said, it blew.
English announces with great excitement on his Instagram pages that he's finally ready to release details about this interview with Kinahan.
