And then they followed that with a 9-18.

And then later on, not so long after, they went 13-4.

And now they've dropped five in a row.

So there probably have been more hills and valleys with this season, even though they're 14 games above 500.

And it's a matter of how quickly they can even out those valleys and kind of get to even playing ground, so to speak.

I think it probably depends a lot on the market.

If there's seven buyers or seven sellers and 23 buyers, it's going to be hard to get deals done.

I think that plays into this.

And I think of those 23 teams, only half of them basically are going to make the playoffs.

So how many of those teams want to continue to push the chips in and compete for what's available out there?

I mean, I think if the Rays are winning the division and have the number one seed, they will be aggressive at the deadline.

But there's still, what, 15, I think it's 13 games until we get to the deadline.

And I really believe because so many teams are in the mix that this is going to come down to the final couple days.

I can't imagine that there are a lot of those seven teams that are like, let's deal now.

They're going to try and get everyone competing against each other who thinks they have a chance.

And most of those 23 teams, even if they think they're on the outside looking in, they're also standing pat to see if they can get a Red Sox or Baltimore Orioles type run right now.

So I think it makes it hard.

I think any team that wants to compete would say,

you know, the number one thing you would want is more pitching, right?

I mean, you want, you know, run prevention is the number one name of the game.
