Okay.
So in the, and the reason I asked this is that I've been subject to a private tow one time.
It was a mistake by the way.
And it was an exorbitant fee as well.
It was in like a apartment parking lot.
So my question would be, you know, would this be an offer to a citizen to essentially use it to make sure that they get a fair rate on a tow?
All right.
Perfect.
Thank you.
More a point.
After conversing with the town attorney here.
So again, my intent would be to try and make it so that our citizens aren't paying exorbitant fees on toes.
So speaking with the town attorney, is that a possibility that we can do that?
So that is not the direction that we received from you and that's not what we asked for, but the state code does authorize localities such as Leesburg to regulate private tow rates as well.
So when PD came to you and asked, it was only in the context of police directed tows, but you do have the authority and having one of these towing advisory boards would allow you to regulate, put a cap on private tow rates.
That would be a subsequent action by the council.
If you'd like us to put it on a subsequent agenda for discussion and to explain it, we'd be happy to.
It's not something we could do tonight, but you do have the legal authority and a towing advisory board is a predicate that you have to have before you can regulate private tow rates.
I just wanted to, for the residents who came forward tonight as a little follow-up, the short-term rental discussion will continue as part of your zoning ordinance rewrite.
I don't know the exact date, but we can try to communicate that to you once we confirm the schedule.
