I've never been as physically uncomfortable in a sports stadium as I have in my life.
It was...
It was about 33 degrees, 9pm kickoff.
The air was like soup.
It was incredible.
Now, obviously, both teams are playing in it, but you could really see it for the first 15 or so minutes.
The ball was like a bar of soap.
Ultimately, though, Montpellier brilliant.
Probably just one game too many for Ulster this season.
They looked like they were running on fumes.
I'm going to be devil's advocate here for a second.
We're talking about Ulster made big strides this year, but ultimately hammered in a final.
We've spent the last 30 to 40 minutes going in pretty hard on Leinster for what's happened then.
Are we being hypocritical here?
Are we judging too similar things?
I might put it to both of you.
Going forward for next season then, obviously it's back to Challenge Cup rugby again, missed out on the playoffs this year.
Can you give me what do you think would be a good baseline target for Ulster, bare minimum target for Ulster next season, and what would be a really, really good campaign?
But when you're playing with limited resources...
Everything goes to plan.
