My name is Nesh Nikolich, and today I have the privilege of speaking with Professor Jen Hudson, a world leader in child and youth mental health and one of Australia's foremost experts on the development, prevention, and treatment of anxiety disorders in children and adolescents.
Jen is recognized globally for her groundbreaking work on parent-child interactions and has made sustained influential contributions to understanding the complex etiology of anxiety while developing innovative, accessible interventions that are changing lives for families across Australia.
As professor and lead of the child mental health research program at the Black Dog Institute, Jen's research spans experimental studies, large-scale randomized controlled clinical trials, prevention and school-based trials, gene-environment interactions, and systematic reviews.
Her insights have shaped how we think about emotional health in young people, and she continues to influence national policy.
as chair of the Medical Research Future Fund's Childhood Mental Health Research Plan Expert Advisory Panel.
As a fellow of the Australian Academy of Social Sciences and an NHMRC investigator fellow, Jen brings deep expertise and a passion for improving services for children experiencing anxiety and other emotional disorders.

I've been anticipating our conversation, uh, really uh because I know that the breadth of your work has been quite significant and and not only in terms of anxiety in children, adolescents, but also the the parent-child interactions space.
