We've got something to point towards in terms of what are some of the contributing factors.

So I'm really eager to to get into the conversation today.

Let me begin with how I always begin, which is what brought you into this space originally?

I think it's always nice to to know what's the history uh before we jump into the topic.

No, no, no.

I mean it's always lovely.

I think s sometimes something is impressed on us uh unknowingly, sometimes it comes from family, other times we we just meet a fantastic supervisor and and and and off we go.

Yeah, I I've been uh very lucky to see so many of my my uh uh colleagues do amazing things, but it feels like they've all found a little sweet spot.

Uh we we all kind of went in

uh thinking the same thing but we've we we've gone in our different ways and it's quite beautiful to to always reflect on that as well.

Doing a a a a step into in into the space, obviously mental health as as as a you know bigger picture with child and adolescence, this this concept around the the the parent and you know the child interaction, can you talk me through that a little bit to to to start?

Uh because

That I think needs a little bit of a defining or understanding um before we kind of open up.

Can I just just query a little bit about the that five minute um observation?

Was there a situation that you set up that would allow for obviously some features to potentially present?

Yeah, yeah, we did.

And in and sure, there there's a little bit of um an assumption there, but really what what we're trying to measure there is

When a parent provides more help than a child needs in that context, meaning that some parents might allow for

five seconds to go by where the child is struggling um before they prompt or suggest or point to something or query.
