And both the male and the female do this.
It's different to mammalian milk.
They both produce it.
And this is what they feed to their chicks.
So the young wood pigeons will literally stick their heads down Mum or Dad's throat and sort of lap this stuff up.
And that means that those chicks aren't relying on their parents being able to find a particular type of food.
Whenever their parents can eat and they have a wider diet, they're able to produce this milk for their chicks.
That's why the wood pigeon was doing that.
And if you see a bird like that carrying a stick or carrying a branch, it's certainly nesting.
There's no other earthly reason a wood pigeon would do that.
Do they use the same nest?
And if not, why not?
Well...
Well, with wood pigeons and other members of the pigeon family, often they don't because it's so flimsy it's usually collapsed by the following year.
Well, never mind the

I mean, if they're having two or three broods a year.
Even then, when you see the state of their nests, they really are badly made.
If it was still in serviceable condition, yes, they will top it up.
