So in fact, Indonesia has more endemic bird species than any other country on the planet.

It has over 650 unique birds.

But you'd have to travel to a lot of islands to see all of those.

In terms of the actual number of birds, it has over 1,800 bird species in total.

So Indonesia is massively important from a bird and from a point of view, and also for all sorts of wildlife, plants and animals as well.

So it's really an interesting place.

Each island is very different.

And people probably have heard about Java.

The name, at least, is known.

Java is actually, would you believe, it's the most populous island in the whole world.

It's only about 1.6 times the size of Ireland.

So a bit larger than Ireland, but a bit smaller than Great Britain.

But it has 160 million people living here.

It is.

If you see a megacity like Jakarta, which is the capital of Indonesia, that's a massive, big city full of hustle and bustle and not the most attractive of places.

But even with that hugely dense population on this island, they still have space for national parks and rainforest and absolutely wonderful wildlife.

And it's been really interesting to see the contrast between the island of Java and the neighboring island of Bali.
