So when I see something like that, I'm overjoyed, to be honest with you.

I get this little burst of adrenaline and you get this happy, feel-good feeling when you see this, particularly because it's something that I really wanted to see.

And also to see not just that, but to see how effective the conservation work has been, to talk to the park rangers, to talk to the tourist guides there who are making a living showing people this bird.

I think that's really important.

the people are seeing that proper ecotourism is meaning that these birds have a value if they're left in the wild that's greater than the value of them being trapped for the caged bird trade.

And so if it's bringing money into local hotels and local restaurants and local businesses, that speaks volumes.

So when I go around places like this, I wear my binoculars around my neck with pride wherever I go, into restaurants or cafes or wherever it may be, so that people know he's here for birdwatching.

He's here because the Bali Mina brought him here.

I think that's really important.

I think it's very important to help with local businesses and to show people that this can be effective.

So that was really wonderful.

In terms of the number of birds that I've seen, it's just over 3,000 of those 11,000 out in the world.

So there's many, many more to go, and I'll never see them all.

But that's the thing about birdwatching.

They're all remarkable.

And there's many other.

It's not just the ballyminer that I've seen.

I've seen probably, at the moment, probably about 40 new species in just a few days between the two islands, and hopefully a few more to come yet.

So I'm really thrilled about that.
