So I guess this first set of conversations is probably going to be around SaaS and cloud and how those changes have kind of shaped the technology industry.
So the first thing I was going to ask really was how you think about the features of running a SaaS business and how that differs from running an older on prem software business?
wangs and the decks just
Stan and the
Just on just on DevOps quickly listening.
So
That's also one of these kind of slightly blended or hybrid roles as well, isn't it?
Where y you know, in in the past almost kind of operating
was kind of separate to development and you know, one would throw the product over to kind of operations and operations was maybe on on the customer's premise, but essentially it was a transfer of responsibility.
Now there's this kind of like collaborative back and forth that the two have to kind of coexist, hence the the term DevOps, because these two have essentially almost merged into one contiguous kind of set of processes and and roles.
And I know some of the analysis that you've done and Christian Larson, your CTO's done with Google and number of kind of West Coast firms, links into I guess almost a kind of KPI that suggests that you know the very best kind of companies you can almost kinda boil them down to those that are capable of releasing
times a day.
that capability almost demonstrates that you're amongst the leaders in in not not just in release frequency but in quality and a whole bunch of other metrics.
They kinda tend to tie to you that.
Yeah.
you you're able to see what they're doing and essentially they're able to give you feedback on an almost continuous basis compared to, as you say, ship the C D, you know, you may or may not have somebody that checks in with the customer after a day or a week or a month, but essentially it's kind of like very, very infrequent feedback you were getting from customers kind of ten or fifteen years ago.
They should be live.
Yeah.
So I'm gonna take you on a slightly different tack back s back back a few years kind of voicing.
So obviously Visma fifteen, twenty years ago was an on prem business, or largely an on prem business at the time.
