12 weeks to figure that out and make everybody salivating at the fact that you could get the top heel and the top baby all together in his home country for the biggest match and the biggest show of their career.
Yeah.
Yeah, there's a lot of positives and a lot of motion and moves towards building that pay-per-view.
But man, speaking of the pay-per-view, there was a pay-per-view quality match last night.
There was the Briscoe and Ciampa and they beat the hell out of each other and they pulled out all the stops.
And as much as I sometimes say AEW gives you too much at once...
How great is it to go, I'm looking forward to this gigantic pay-per-view, but there's at least a very real long-running story with Mark Briscoe and Ciampa to where they go back and forth and it makes sense to have this match and the returning Briscoe gets the big win, but they pulled out all the stops.
And my favorite part is occasionally it tends to just be chaos for chaos, but AEW last night, especially in this match, in between those big moments for me,
is that anticipation in between.
Ciampa putting the spiked knee pad and sliding it up his leg and letting us see that at home, and I'm like, holy crap, what the hell are they going to do next?
And then that not going right into it and taking it away to give it back to it, I really appreciate the way they let both those guys covered in blood.
They put it out there, but also in between had me wondering what the hell was going to go next because they caught their breath, and I love seeing that.
Yeah, we're 20 minutes into three hours, yes.
Of course, and they always start hot, and sometimes it's that pay-per-view style match kicking it right off, but this time it was the little outside interview, and you go, it's Jericho in the box, and they're like, oh, cool, they're teaming, that's fun.
But then, like you said, you get those little digs of, yeah, remember when we beat up our dad?
Remember this?
Yeah, we don't forget.
We don't forget that, but okay, we are making this big moment happen.
We're going out there to defend ourselves.
