I don't think the problem is Sanket so much, but rather the fact that there is war in the world and that we have nations that don't get along.
I think as long as you have that, there will be enormous incentives for developing militaries and armaments and weapons, and sometimes they will get used.
I think there are several distinct risks from AI.
So one is what you mentioned that these become powerful tools and people misuse them to wage war or oppress one another for other bad purposes.
Then separately from that, there is also the possibility of risks from these AIs themselves.
They have agency already.

I mean, I think it is one of the possible outcomes that once you get this AI thing really going, you can automate the economy and then you could have a sort of abundance of wealth.
Think of like a universal aristocracy, but with nobody downstairs.

That is conceivable, but it does require that we sort of get through these intermediate stages, which I think there is no guarantee that we will.
It also requires that there is some system at the other end that makes sure everybody gets at least some slice of the windfall.
But certainly the size of the pie could grow enormously if you have machines not just running the economy, but also inventing new technologies and starting new enterprises and so forth.
I think you might have very rapid economic growth for some period of time when that kicks in.
Yeah, well, I think the fact that a lot of people die within some small number of years after they retire has a lot to do with the fact that they are old and the body accumulates damage.
I think there are various groups in human history who have not worked for a living, who seems to have had good lives.
