And I do feel that you shouldn't just look at Wales as well.
If they get out of the group, that's a great tournament.
I've got a sneaking suspicion they might even get as far as the quarterfinals because in Bale they've got the X Factor and they've got some good Premier League players there as well.
Let's not forget Aaron Ramsey, Joe Allen and Joe Ledley will be important for them as well.
Ashley Williams too.
That's a good spine, you know, even at international level.
So, yeah, I'm really looking forward to seeing how Wales get on.
I've just got a funny feeling Wales, England, they might cancel each other out a bit, which could be a slight problem, but I'd still, if it was pushed, would nominate them as one and two in the group.
Well, again, it's fantastic to see them at their first ever European Championships, but Michael O'Neill isn't going to just settle for that.
Great unbeaten run that they're on.
They are a real cussed, difficult to beat team, aren't they?
And for that reason, I know there's Germany, there's Ukraine and Poland in their group, and that doesn't look easy.
But they'll take points off some of those teams.
They might do enough to get through.
They'll certainly believe they can.
And if they went out in the group stages, they'd go home disappointed.
It wouldn't be enough for them to say, oh great, we took part.
They will want to make a mark.
And to them, that means reaching the knockout stages.
Presumably the same goes for the Republic?
