And it really did feel as if Euro 2016 was up and running.

The fact that he added a few tears to it, well, great, a little bit of extra emotion.

We all like to see that.

So that was a great moment.

Then my next moment, obviously, Eric Dier's free kick.

I didn't really know he had it in him.

I know the players say he practices it all the time in training, but wow, it was fantastic.

A really great goal coming at a time when it looked as if England just weren't going to break through.

I'm so pleased in a way that it finished, if it was going to be a draw, that it was 1-1 and not 0-0, because at least it proves England can breach other teams' defences.

That was fantastic and I just loved the way Italy played and celebrated against Belgium.

Throughout that match, you got a sense that this is an Italian team that, like England actually, is a notoriously slow starter, but had a real good talking to by Conte and was told, get out on the front foot and play, really go for it.

And for an Italian team, I thought they did.

I was very pleasantly surprised by how well they did and how eager they were to get forward at every opportunity.

Belgium had their moments too.

I thought it was probably one of the best games yet, as we would expect against two of the higher ranked teams.

But yes, we're just coming up to the end of the first round of matches and it's good stuff.

Bring on some more.

Well, it is.

I'm sure that the players involved will try and make sure it doesn't happen again because you might put up with it once, but I don't think you'd put up with it again.

But, no, I mean, it was, listen, Italy would dearly love to win the Euros like a lot of the other sides were.
