And I'm so much faster than I was six months ago.

So I don't care how fast your friends are.

Like I'm, I'm happy.

And I think that's the, you need to use another cliche.

You need an inner scorecard that, that dictates how you judge yourself because the external one is painful to apply.

So Nikki and I, okay, so when I had the digital agency, Native Digital, one of my ideas as an internal project was to launch Y Combinator for Australia.

So I went out and started talking to investors about Y Combinator and they all were like, yeah, that's not gonna work.

That's a bad idea.

And for various reasons, they're probably decent in their reasoning why they told me that.

But then I got introduced to Nikki who was doing roughly the same idea of launching an accelerator in Australia.

And the second I met him, I was like, I think people who think I'm not going to succeed are probably right, but they're wrong about Nicky because Nicky will make this succeed.

So, I just stopped pursuing it and I sold, I had some Commonwealth Bank shares and I sold them all and put them into Startmates second cohort.

That's kind of my first angel investment.

Uh, we met in a cafe in Darlinghurst and I just, I actually don't remember the thought process except that I came away completely thinking I'm not going to pursue this anymore.

I'm just going to put money into his thing.

Just like he's going to do it better than I will.

I mean, if you go back to the first 25 people that put money into Startmate, it's all of the godfathers of Australian startups.

And Nicky had put himself in a position where that was his peer group.

And I was much more, I think, on the outside looking in, starting to meet those people.

But I didn't have 25 mates who could put five grand into an accelerator.
