It's just as important to do a weekly, monthly, quarterly update on yourself and your own progress, even if you don't send it to anyone and you just write it for yourself.
And so I think that process of writing what you want, hard to know what you want, hard to be accurate at defining what you want, and then difficult to be consistent in pursuing that and just being unapologetic in making the sacrifices you need to go and get that thing that you want.
Well, I didn't.
I was kind of caught up in it.
They were more confident and well established and successful than I was when we first met.
And so I just went along with it.
But we went to Byron Bay that first weekend, got an Airbnb and we just sat around and each person spent basically half a day saying, here's what I want my life to be.
And then everyone just gave really honest, vulnerable, kind of caring feedback.
And I was just like, this is absolutely amazing.
So I was lucky that we had a group that was able to tap into that.
I credit Simon with driving it and having the insight for what it needed to be.
And then it was just alchemy, I think.
We got lucky that we had the right group.
And I think when people email me, the question I ask the most about it is how do I pick the group?
And I don't think it's close friends.
I don't think close friends is the right proxy, but I think you should go, who can I share my bank balance with and have them not be the jealous or judge me?
Who can I talk to about quality of my relationship with my partner and know that I can share vulnerability and fear in that area and have them not hold that against me or use that against me?
So it's trying to think through who are the people you'd be most comfortable sharing awkward things with.
And that's often not your close friends group or the people you see the most.
There's other people in your life who you will feel on a different wavelength with on the trust side.
