I don't want to say lanky because that's not true because he's like 240 pounds.

I think he carries his weight really well.

But if there's that one player that I think you pair him with Tremaine Edmonds and you have that second level defender, somebody who's a high character kid, everybody raves about him.

I don't see him necessarily as like an Isaiah Simmons bust.

I think the usage of how Brett Venables used Isaiah Simmons and how Sonny Styles played at Ohio State are two separate things.

And I do think there's just a ton of upside with the players like that.

So that's where I'm at right now.

But I do find it interesting because I watch Ohio State

And I think Caleb Downs right now is a better football player than Sonny Stiles.

And a lot of it is cerebral.

So you're banking a little bit on the projection and the physical upside of Sonny Stiles.

But I don't think Sonny Stiles is a bad football player.

But when I walked Caleb Downs, I see somebody who is processing at a rate that is going to really be a thorn in the side for opposing offenses.

especially on the deep and the intermediate parts of the field because of how he reads these route concepts and how quick he reacts.

Throwing windows are so tight in the NFL, but when you have somebody who's processing a step faster than what normal safeties do, that's going to obviously tighten those windows even more.

So when I look at Caleb Downs, all that's going through my mind when it just comes to what he can offer the Giants from shutting down the intermediate and deep portions of the field.

I think he could be a turnover type of player as well, but it's also run support.

He's not a liability at all.

It's just his thing is he's not physically... He's not a physically gifted player to be selected at five for the safety position, traditionally speaking.
