These conditions were rather standard for such retreats, as both from a metabolic and New Age spiritual point of view, cleanses were always expected as part of the preparation for the experience.

Two days prior to their departure, Tim, along with his best friend Kenny, Kenny's girlfriend Amanda, and the consummate partners in crime, CJ and Dan, sat together at a cafe, going over the final details of their trip.
Kenny and Amanda were particularly excited, as this was their first getaway as a couple.
CJ and Dan, much like Tim, were mostly excited for the mind-bending adventure which was promised at the top of the mountain.
All had their passports ready, their bags packed, and wore their excitement openly on their faces.
Of their group, only Kenny and Amanda had taken the dietary and havoc requirements seriously, with Kenny only doing so begrudgingly at Amanda's behest.
Tim battled a slight hangover while sitting with his friends, as was usual for his appearances in the daylight on days following his gigs, but found such manageable.
CJ and Dan both greedily slurped down their fruit smoothies as their perpetual cases of the munchies demanded tasty snacks, following their fifth or sixth smoke out of the day.

Others meet aliens or other dimensional beings.
It's supposed to be pretty intense.

Amanda teased, glancing down to the plate which sat before Tim.
