So that would have been a great measuring stick for Nate Desmond.
But I think regardless, maybe he gets the date here.
against Rutgers' own Tahir Parkins, who's a true freshman, or obviously the second-year man, Mason Gibson, who Penn State fans know from his brother, Mason Gibson.
Obviously, Gibson, part of the Bassett family, cousins of them.
So it'll be an interesting matchup regardless, I'd say, but I think if you're Penn State,
Maybe it's Desmond if Nagao can't go because I think you still want to preserve what Davis could possibly do with multiple years of eligibility down the line.
I wouldn't burn it yet unless they have to or unless they really believe that maybe Desmond fits in at 33 or 41 in the future somehow, some way.
I would lean Desmond right now.
But again, Penn State, as we always say, it's a good problem to have.
Yeah, I mean, if you put it that way, again, at this point, it's just all about lineup math.
But I think what we've seen from Penn State historically is sometimes these guys, maybe they just don't crack the lineup until their final season.
It just happens because of their influx of talent.
Based on Desmond's results this year, he hasn't faced otherworldly competition in duels, at least having appeared against Wyoming, North Dakota State, Stanford.
He hasn't faced the best of the best yet, again, but he beats it.
You take it with a grain of salt, but he did beat Luke Little Doll down at 25 at the Blackman Invitational, which obviously raised a lot of eyebrows.
So the kid's got a lot of talent, but going up two weight classes, it's different than just saying, hey, we're going to bump you up to 33.
You're going up to 141 right here, but
The kid is 6-0, 7-0 on the season for a reason.
He is really, really good.
He does have quality wins at 25 as well, other than Luke Lillard.
