So uh and that's probably because the inflammation affects the stomach function and your stomach fails to relax normally.
And if it fails to relax normally you can't eat.
as much.
And if you can't eat as much, you don't get fat.
And what's more, if you get that failure of the stomach to relax properly, you get more reflux disease because you actually induce reflex responses that lead to more acid coming up into your esophagus.
So it all links together rather amazingly.
Well it's interesting.
We have recent data which implicate wheat may be relevant.
Now we have to prove this and there's a lot of work to do, but we certainly strongly suspect that wheat allergy may be one of the factors that's highly relevant in this syndrome.
And also bacteria change may be relevant.
We've actually now shown just very recently that the bacteria in
in the upper small intestine also are changed in this condition, possibly due to dietary changes or to infections in the past, and this may help uh the uh problem, the inflammation to continue long term.
