And so you're seeing these news items and these headlines now, places like Social Circle, Georgia, places like California City that's operating unlawfully.
They're wanting to expand these warehouses and fill beds and facilities, 10,000 beds.
You see what's going on in these facilities too, Don.
That was part of our investigation as well as the human rights abuses inside.
People are asking for voluntary deportation, and they're not getting it.
Full stop.
We found that to be a theme, just as much as this pattern is of their expansion across the country, is that there are people that are asking to be sent back, and they're not being allowed to go home.
The other thing they do is that they transfer these pretrial detainees, a lot of them who haven't been charged, they transfer them from one facility to the next just to exhaust them physically.
It's just to fuck with them mentally, to be honest.
And they end up in a different bed, in a different facility.
They don't know where they are.
We focused on the story of Carlos de la Valle, and he is somebody who's been in this country for 30 years.
He crossed in this country, caught illegally, crossed again.
That's a felony now, which was expanded under President Clinton in the 90s.
Never a pathway to citizenship for him, but he was expanding his life, living a great life here for 30 years.
He gets caught in August.
