We often ask our people, say, okay, there we go.
You know, where's the line for people?
You know, we suffer from a disease of individualism in this country.
And it's almost as if you're not directly impacted by it.
You don't care.
And it's so clear and evident to this community that we just celebrated MLK Jr.
's federal holidays.
Right.
A threat to justice anywhere, an injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.
And this community, you know, sure, when I got here, part of what I wanted to show was that these kinds of things were happening all across the community, but the ripples of the trauma that the residents have faced, I mean, it's touched everyone in this community.
And, you know, that second amendment supporter was saying this morning, you know, I don't know if my Republican
peers, co-workers are going to go into the ballot box and change their vote from an R to a D. I just know, though, that these individuals who are reluctant and unwilling to accept what was happening are now starting to process this in a different way.
And they're realizing that the person that they voted for is the boot that's kicking them.
You know, we're out here on the streets and we've been out here for seven months.
Where are all the don't tread on people?
Where are all the small government people?
Where are the headlines that in any other country this would be secret police target ethnic minority?
That's plain and simple.
You know, I was coming in here.
I hated the fact that I felt like I was part of the story coming in here simply by being a brown man.
