I think he maybe his first ten pitches of the game were fastballs too, which as someone who's faced him, you know, he's obviously respects his fastball, but the splitter is um
You just a nasty pitch and a pitch that you're very aware of.
And I think a lot of times as hitters, sometimes when a guy has such a great outlier pitch like that, you can be on the side of things like
making sure you don't swing at it or like being careful, like, oh, I don't want to swing at anything down the zone and all of a sudden you're not ready to actually hit what you do want to hit.
Um and I thought just his ability to get ahead and dominate with his fastball um was really impressive and
Just the rhythm he was in, the efficiency.
Um, it felt like a easy seven innings, which is I'm sure it didn't it sh is not easy to do, but at least looked that way.
Yeah, absolutely.
And then even just I mean, he's a
He's unique in that he does have a slider, but he's when it comes down to it for the most part a two pitch pitcher, which there aren't many of those in starters and but when you have the ability to go in, out, up, down with a four seam, like those can end up acting like different pitches themselves too.
So yeah, that was uh fun to watch.
Yeah, the way it was was presented, I think Ian and I were both a little like confused on what was what was happening.
Um John wasn't exactly like uh over the top celebratory in his tone.
Um but
It uh no, it it means a ton and like
just very humbling and the coolest part of being a mentioned with those people is just that just the names that you're around.
I mean, like there's a ridiculous cast of of legends from throughout such a long, long history of of Cubs baseball.
And so um
you know, very grateful to fans and and anyone that even considered us for that because it it feels kind of crazy, honestly, especially when you're in the middle of your career and there's all these people with, you know, 20 year Hall of Fame careers.
Like it's a totally different level to be um even considered alongside is is pretty incredible.
