Is there some belief within the Gardaí force that my son was in some way associated with criminals?
If so, I can tell you once and for all that he was not.
I note that the Garda website has a page about the murders in Finglas and the heading is about the murders of Anthony Campbell and Martin Highland.
I understand that two people were murdered that day but is there an intrinsic bias within the force because a person who was known to Gardaí was murdered at the same time as my innocent son Anthony?
They were not friends, they were not associates, and they did not know each other.
My son Anthony just happened to be there doing an honest day's work.
He suffered because he was doing a job.
His murder should be separated from the Martin Marlow Hyland murder investigation.
His murder may have happened at the same time and place as Martin Hyland, but that is where the similarities or association ends.
My son was shot because of where he was.
My son was murdered because he happened to be there, because he was doing his job.
My son Anthony was a hardworking, loving and kind son, with his whole life ahead of him.
I'm appealing to you now, Commissioner, as a victim of crime yourself.

The pain I have felt since December 12th 2006 has not subsided.
