And so he came stateside from Puerto Rico to give us a better life.
And he gave us in many ways, such a better life.
And he taught me so many skills, like even, you know, he helped me avoid student debt, not just in him helping me with my board costs, but he forced me to stay in state where I had a scholarship when I wanted to be a kid who was, you know, oh, I want the college dream.
I want to go here.
Right.
And I thank him so much for that savvy because it saved me a lot, a lot.
And I got married to someone who had made a different decision in his schooling.
I could not let anyone know that I was stressed about our student debt or what became our student debt.
And, you know, that anxiety showed up in the way that I worked.
So I worked a cold call sales job to bring in extra money.
I carried stress.
It was like every day, every call, every hang up.
It was like I could feel the weight of the debt, which in my mind was like, it's as much as your annual salary.
It's as much.
Right.
Like it was just screaming at me.
And I remember that it wasn't just in the way that I worked.
It was in the way that I relaxed too.
Because when we relaxed, everything was around, okay, well, if we're going to go out to eat, it's got to be cheap.
